Core Glory – Primal Core Summer Intensive

Have you ever had that experience in yoga class where things get hard? The pose is challenging to stay in and suddenly you notice that you’re feeling irritated, perhaps it’s the teacher’s voice, or the temperature of the room, or, or… ugh everything feels hard and annoying? This is when we say the yoga practice actually begins. The benefits of practice are many, as we well know, but while your joints, ligaments and muscles will thank you for taking care of them with yoga, this is the time that yoga can benefit your mind.

That irritation is simply reactivity in the mind. We are conditioned to seek out comfort, even as we are designed to constantly grow (which tends to be inherently UNcomfortable), so we experience conflict in those moments of challenge. This, perhaps unbeknownst to you, is what you came to class for. So what if you didn’t leave, even metaphorically, by shifting out of the pose or letting your mind continue to brew on the specifics of what is wrong right now and instead brought your attention back into the location of the challenge in your body and of course continued to breathe deeply?

Simple as it sounds, this is part of the genius of yoga; setting up ever more complex challenges for the body, designed to pluck on the tight strings of reactivity we had no idea were there (unconscious) and taking a good, loving look at them (making them conscious), so that we can, breath by breath, let them go.

As the saying goes, “Free your mind and your asana will follow…” right?

If you want to jumpstart a lagging practice or boost your current practice this four week long 2 day/week intensive will give you ample opportunity to open your awareness in the face of challenge…

Primal Core is a potent system of practice based on ancient yogic science. We work from the inside out with core strength drills, strengthening asana, focusing mantra and energizing pranayama.

The combination of these practices is a fast track to transformation for body, mind and spirit. This intensive offers you two days a week of practice for 4 weeks on Mondays & Thursdays, are you ready?
